National Seminar on "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: The Maker of the Indian Constitution"

Kurukshetra University, in collaboration with the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute at Akshardham, New Delhi, successfully hosted a National Seminar on “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: The Maker of the Indian Constitution” from November 22 to 23, 2023, in Kurukshetra. Sadhu Munivatsaldas, Head of Swaminarayan Akshardham, graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, while Professor Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, presided over the event. Dr. Naresh Kumar, Registrar of Shri Krishna AYUSH University, and Professor Sanjeev Sharma, Registrar of Kurukshetra University, were esteemed Guests of Honour. The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Shiv Poojan Pathak from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, shared insights into Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in shaping the Indian Constitution.

Throughout the seminar, speakers highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s significant contributions to the formation of the Indian Constitution. Sadhu Munivatsaldas, in his Chief Guest’s address, underscored Dr. Ambedkar’s role as both the creator and facilitator of the constitution, defining not only citizens’ rights but also their corresponding responsibilities. Emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between rights and responsibilities, Pujya Swamiji likened them to the two wheels of the ‘Rashtra-Rath’, essential for propelling the nation forward on the ‘Supath’ to greater heights. Pujya Swamiji also conveyed that spirituality plays a crucial role in instilling righteousness and a sense of responsibility within individuals and society at large. He asserted that spirituality will not only construct the ‘Supath’ but will also propel the journey of the ‘Rashtra-Rath’, providing the necessary foundation for the nation’s progress.
