‘Satsang-Diksha’ is a shastra authored in Gujarati by Pragaṭa Brahmasvarūpa Mahant Swami Maharaj, the sixth spiritual successor of Bhagavān Swaminarayan. This shastra presents the principles of āgnā and upāsanā taught by Bhagavān Swaminarayan. This shastra was rendered into Sanskrit verses by Mahāmahōpādhyāya Bhadreshdas Swami. The ‘Satsang-Diksha’ shastra is a part of the ‘Akṣhara-Puruṣhottama Saṃhitā’ shastra, which extensively elaborates upon Bhagavān Swaminarayan’s principle teachings and perspectives of bhakti in a scholarly style (manner/approach).

Inaugurated as part of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Centenary Celebrations, this contemporary scripture provides insightful solutions to everyday problems. Satsang-Diksha contains the essence of Vedic philosophical principles and the bhakti tradition in 315 concise verses.  Due to its universal appeal, it has been celebrated as a guide to social harmony. Its teachings in moral behavior, social dealings and spiritual knowledge are followed by countless spiritual seekers today.

Course Progression

  • Every week, two or four video lectures will be uploaded for studying, which can be viewed at students’ convenience.

Communication Method

Communication for the course will be primarily through a dedicated Telegram group. Important updates, including announcements, and notifications, will be shared through this group. The Telegram group is created to ensure all students can easily receive messages and stay updated with crucial information. Notifications regarding major events, such as final exams, will also be sent via email.

Certificate

At the end of the course, a certificate will be given to the students who have successfully passed the examination. A valid certificate will be issued by the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute. A minimum score of 50% is mandatory to pass the exam. Students securing more than 95%, 90% or 80% marks will receive a First-Class Honours with Distinction, First-Class or Second-Class Certificate respectively.

Eligibility for joining the course

  • 18 years or above.

Requirement for Passing the Course

Students must watch each class video and read the study material. Only after the study of one class is completed, the video and content of the next class will become available for study. At the end of each semester there will be a semester exam. Based on the marks obtained in the semester examination, the appropriate grades will be determined. An average score of more than 50% is required to complete the course.
