Spiritual Devotion Meets Classical Poetics: ‘Keshav Kavya Kalarav 2026’ Concludes at Swaminarayan Akshardham

New Delhi, July 5, 2026 – The National Literary Conference, titled “Keshav Kavya Kalarav 2026,” successfully concluded on Sunday at Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, under the aegis of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute.

The symposium invited original poems, muktaks (quatrains), and ghazals in Hindi, Sanskrit, and English from writers across the country. The central themes of the conference were rooted in profound spiritual concepts, including Guru, Bhagwan (God), Ātmavicāra (Atma-realization), Sāṅkhya Vicāra (the ephemeral nature of worldly existence), and Akṣaya Ānanda (Eternal Bliss). Out of numerous entries received nationwide, the selection committee chose the finest pieces, and these exceptional writers were invited to present their works at the Akshardham complex.

Distinguished Guests Welcomed

The event witnessed a warm welcome of eminent dignitaries who graced the dais, including:

  • Hon’able Justice Abhilasha Kumari – Former Judicial Member of the Lokpal Committee of India and the first female Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.
  • Prof. Shiv Shankar Mishra – Vice-Chancellor, Maharishi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya, Ujjain.
  • Prof. Pramod Kumar Sharma – Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut.
  • Mr. Uday Kumar – Editor, Amar Ujala.
  • Mr. Ashish Pandey – Editor, Navbharat Times.
  • Dr. Narayan Dutt Mishra – Doordarshan anchor, Chief Editor of Sanskrit Vartavali, and recipient of the ‘Creative Young Mind of India’ award.
  • Mr. Prashant Tiwari – Chairman, The Daily Pioneer.
  • Swadesh Kumar – Mtero City Editor, Dainik Jagaran.
  • Prof. Prem Shankar Sharma – Retired Additional District Magistrate (Prayagraj) and National Sanskrit Poet Award winner.
  • Mr. Shubham Singh – Public Services Officer selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and an engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur.
  • Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay – Chief Editor, Motherland Voice.
  • Mr. Hemant Keshav Sharma – Leadership team member, The Pioneer.

The inaugural session commenced at 1:00 PM with a welcoming address by Dr. Gyanananddas Swami (Assistant Director, BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, New Delhi), setting the stage for a magnificent confluence of language, literature, and devotion.

One after another, the invited poets took to the stage, weaving beautiful threads of imagination with deep devotional sentiments. Through their poetry, the creators delivered emotionally resonant and thought-provoking presentations on themes such as the glory of the Guru (Guru-mahimā), love for the Guru (Guru-prema), divine grace, the divinity of Akshardham, and the Guru’s blessings.

In the second session of the conference, the participants captivated the audience with their beautiful thematic poetic presentations, creating an inspiring literary atmosphere. Distinguished guests, eminent scholars, and literary experts shared profound insights into the essence, purpose, and contemporary relevance of literature, enriching the intellectual discourse.

This was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session in which the audience enthusiastically interacted with the dignitaries, seeking guidance on Kāvya-tattva, Mīmāṃsā, poetics, and various aspects of creative writing. These thought-provoking exchanges reflected the participants’ keen interest in literary excellence and classical aesthetics. The entire session was conducted seamlessly across three languages—Hindi, English, and Sanskrit—making it a unique confluence of tradition, scholarship, and multilingual literary expression. 

In their addresses, the dignitaries praised poetry as a natural and beautiful expression of devotion, lauding such initiatives as a perfect bridge between literature and spirituality. The grand event concluded with the felicitation of the award-winning poets, who were honored with certificates of appreciation.
