Mahamahopadhyay Bhadreshdas Swami Inaugurates National Vedic Seminar at KBVS&ASU

A three-day All India Vedic Seminar, themed Vedic Education Tradition in Northeast India, commenced today at Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University (KBVS&ASU). The seminar is a joint initiative between the university’s Department of Sanskrit Vedic Studies and the Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidya Pratishthan, Ujjain.

Distinguished Guidance by Mahamahopadhyay Bhadreshdas Swami

The inaugural ceremony featured Mahamahopadhyay Bhadreshdas Swami, Head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Swamiji illuminated the significance of the Vedic tradition, noting that the Vedas are not merely historical texts but an eternal path for global welfare. He specifically lauded the academic efforts in Northeast India to preserve this sacred heritage.

Academic Leadership and Dignitaries

Prof. Prahlad R. Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of KBVS&ASU, opened the seminar by outlining the university’s strategic roadmap for Vedic propagation. The inaugural session also featured contributions from:

  • Prof. Ravindranath Bhattacharya (University of Calcutta) as Distinguished Guest.
  • Prof. Kameshwar Shukla (Gauhati University) as Keynote Speaker.
  • Prof. Virupaksha V. Jaddipal (Secretary, MSRVP, Ujjain) as Saraswat Guest.
