On January 30, 2023, L.D. Arts College in Ahmedabad hosted the 15th “Gita Jayanti Samarambha,” a festival aimed at promoting the knowledge of the Gita among contemporary youths. The event saw 80 students from 14 different colleges participating, with two students from the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya being awarded prizes – Shri Tapanbhai Bhavsar and Shri Harshbhai Kyada won the first and third prizes, respectively, in the elocution competition.

In addition to the prizes awarded to the students, the festival also gives the ‘Shrimati Jayaben Sivaprasad Dave Vijayapadma’ award to the college with the best student performance among all participating colleges . This year, this prestigious award was given to the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.

Through such acquisition of wisdom and skills, the students of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya help to further the glory of Hindu culture and the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. It is heartening to see young students actively engaging with the Gita, an ancient text that holds significant relevance in today’s world.
