On March 13,1923, Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj envisioned a Sanskrit College in Sarangpur. In 2013, Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj fulfilled his guru’s vision by establishing the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.

This year, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya celebrated its 10th anniversary, or Dashabdi Mahotsav. This event commemorated the culmination of two significant events: 100 years of Shastriji Maharaj’s vision and 10 years of that vision being fulfilled by Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

On the occasion of the Dashabdi Mahotsav, various programs were organised including:

• A monthly lecture series in which eminent Sanskrit scholars including Dr. Narendra Kumar Pandya and Dr. Pankaj Kumar Raval gave insights under the themes of “Glory of the Guru in the Shrimad Bhagvat Puran” and “The Relation Between Bhakta and Bhagwan based on Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayan” respectively.
• Satsang Siddhant Mukhpath Adhiveshan in which students displayed their knowledge of the Satsang Diksha and Siddhant Karika.
• “Nisthavan Bhava Shibir” which helped the Mahavidyalay students enhance their faith in Bhagwan and the Sant.
• The Satsang Diksha Mahayag for students and parents continued the vedic yagna tradition.
• The International Conference on Akshar Purushottam Darshan History, Philosophy, and Transmission provided a platform for scholars pursuing original thought and in-depth studies.
• Various academic and spiritual tours to help connect the Sanskrit community and provide a forum for discussions.

The grand Dashabdi assembly was celebrated with great pomp in the presence of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj on 23/5/24 in Sarangpur. With the central idea of “Sarvam Bhavati Sakaram,”(Everything shall be fulfilled.) students and teachers conducted dialogues unravelling the history behind Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj’s support for the Mahavidyalaya. Students received Mahant Swami Maharaj with a grand dance after a classical presentation in Sanskrit displaying the subjects of Nyaya, Vyakaran, Sahitya and Vedanta.

Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed the students and professors for outstanding achievements like acquiring gold and silver medals, PhD degrees, achievements on national level examinations like the NET-SET, and higher education at Harvard University, in the last ten years.

Following this, Swamishri sanctified various books authored by Mahavidyalaya students. Students appreciated Swamishri for his constant mentorship, inspiration, and motivation. The celebration concluded with great enthusiasm for the future of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.
