Abstract
This paper investigates the role of spirituality in advancing public health. Despite its potential impact, spirituality is often overlooked as an important social determinant of health. However, it can significantly influence health outcomes at both the individual and population levels. This study examines how spirituality aligns with key public health principles, including prevention, promotion, protection, inclusivity, collaboration, and sustainability. Specifically, this paper analyses how adherence to the tenets of Satsaṅgadīkṣā, a sacred text authored by Mahant Swami Maharaj, helps promote these core principles and addresses contemporary public health challenges. The findings suggest that integrating spirituality into public health research and practice is vital for developing holistic interventions. It concludes by proposing that similar methodologies may serve as valuable frameworks for further inquiry into the health benefits of other spiritual practices.
